Why is it important to learn the pronouns?

DON'T MISS!!!!

Do you speak English?

what's the difference?

Should I stay or should I go (Another version)

Why do we have to come to school and to stay all day listening to teachers, when it's just a waste of the students time?

Most of us are not listening or paying any attention of what teachers are talking about.

Actually they are just there to pull the students leg: "Stop talking, look at the board, be quiet, this will be on the exame, do your homework, study..."

They always are sayimg the same boring stuffs that students don't care about!!!

I neither understand why do we have to stay so much time in classes and so little outside?

Should I stay or should I go ? (continuation)

I'm tired of school, I'm looking forward to finish school because nowadays, the exercises seem all the same, day by day, therefore, I don't feel like being at school... we have to study things which are not really important, for an example, on a Monday, I was in a maths class and the teacher told us to solve a really hard problem and then, I asked myself " will I need to know this crap in the future? this doesn't make sense... at all. " The person who created the whole school thing should be processed and I'm serious... no one likes school and I'm not an exception.

Should I stay or should I go?

“Finally the last class of the day!”- I thought to myself. I got into the classroom with my head full of colours and wishes. During the small break, I didn’t have the time to finish that curious conversation I started with her. What a shame! I wish I could leave the classroom right now but it’s too late. The old teacher had already looked at me with a nervous and impatient expression in her face. I’m not really in a mood to read English texts, to work vocabulary and to solve grammar exercises. It’s always the same crap, the same teachers, the same old habits.  I really don’t understand grown up people and above all, I don’t understand what I am doing here.

Any ideas to continue this story?
After our Monday class, you really have to make it up!

What do you know about Halloween ?

Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. It is thought to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honour all saints and martyrs; the holiday, All Saints’ Day, incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows’ Eve and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a secular, community-based event characterized by child-friendly activities such as trick-or-treating. In a number of countries around the world, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people continue to usher in the winter season with gatherings, costumes and sweet treats.

What´s the surprise?

                                                                      Antonio Seguí, Hombre sorprendido (2001)

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main." (John Donne, Meditation XVII).

It's time to start posting and commenting  ;)
Why is this painting called a surprised man?

To know a language- What does that mean?????

Whatever else people may do when they come together- whether they play, fight, make love or make automobiles- they talk. We live in a world of words. We talk to our friends, our associates, our wives or husbands, our lovers, our teachers, our parents. We talk to bus drivers and total strangers. We talk face-to-face and over the telephone. And everyone responds with more talk. Television and radio further swell this torrent of words. As a result, hardly a moment of our waking lives is free from words, and even in our dreams we talk and are talked to. We also talk when there is no one to answer. Some of us talk aloud in our sleep. We talk to our pets and sometimes to ourselves. And we are the only animals that do this- that talk.
The possession of language, more than any other attribute, distinguishes human from other animals. To understand our humanity one must understand the language that makes us human. According to the philosophy expressed in the myths and religions of many peoples, it is language that is the source of life and power. To some people in Africa, a newborn child is a kuntu a "thing", not yet a  muntu, a "person". Only by the act of learning languages does the child become a human being. Thus according to this tradition, we all become "human" because we all know at least one language. But what does it mean to "know" a language?
